A ransomware attack, a major hardware failure, or a compliance audit will expose the gap between storing files and resuming business operations. A backup saves a copy of your files, it takes disaster recovery to bring your applications, databases, and website back online so your business can keep running.

Nexcess Disaster Recovery keeps a live copy of your server running in the cloud,  provisioned automatically with the network path verified, its health visible in the portal you already use, and recovery proven by dated test evidence.

Disaster recovery turns on when you buy it

Setting up disaster recovery should work when you buy it, and not require weeks of scoping calls or waiting in support queues. When you add disaster recovery to your Nexcess account, the secondary server builds automatically through our integration with Acronis. No manual work from a support representative is required to start the setup.

If you already use Nexcess Managed Backups, disaster recovery is additive. It layers directly on top of your existing backup setup without replacing your existing files or conflicting with your active configuration.

We test the network path before you need it

We test the network path before you need it, since you will need to direct customer traffic to the secondary server as part of the recovery effort. Nexcess configures a static IP address for every disaster recovery workload. We run automated routing tests to confirm that traffic can reach the secondary server, ensuring your network path is verified long before an incident occurs.

Replication Health accessible in the portal you already use

You can find your replication health sitting in the portal you already use showing your last successful sync, recovery target status, current failover availability, test history, and system alerts.

Automated testing with proof on file

Automated testing puts proof of recovery on file. We boot your secondary recovery server inside an isolated test environment, capture a screenshot of the running system, and verify that the server started cleanly. This test runs in the background without affecting your live website or interrupting your customers.

The timestamped screenshot is saved directly in your portal. When an auditor, insurance provider, or leadership asks you for proof that your recovery plan works, you can present a dated record of a successful boot.
